Dear poodle followers. I hope you will all visit  Gluten Free Works and read the great post they have on their website right now that tells the history and symptoms etc. of celiac disease. I think anyone could learn something from this super article. We are all in daily contact with people who are walking around with celiac disease but do not know it, maybe even some of our family members. We  must all continue to be informed and spread the word. Last night we had our first celiac support group meeting at Saint Mary's Parish Center in Pontiac. We had ten people attend and it was an amazing cross section of people ranging from a long time celiac (OK it was me) to a 12 year old girl diagnosed a month ago and a few in between. We also had someone with a wheat allergy, gluten intolerance/autoimmune disease and dermatitis Herpetiformis. We also were honored with the attendance of a few loved ones/cooks. We are already looking forward to next months meeting in which several more people have said they will be there, plus making plans for fun things like a grocery store tour, a buddy system for new celiac's and all of us eating out together. Julie, the label and GF product queen and me, the GF cooking queen are organizing the group.
